The role will include:

• Servicing a range of canal boat marine engines
• Engine fault finding and diagnostics
• Manoeuvring of boats in and around the marina
• Webasto and Eberspächer diagnostics (training will be provided)
• General site machinery servicing and maintenance
• Welding work

The Person:

The role will be suited to an individual who has a background in canal boats and engine work. They will need to be flexible and organised with a proactive approach to the task in hand working as an individual and in a team, supporting others where required. Attention to detail and ownership of the work is vital. They need to be able to handle and perform well under pressure and have the ability to meet targets and deadlines as the role can be demanding with time constraints.

A background in boat maneuvering is desirable but not essential as training can be given to the right candidate.

Part-time Weltonfield Marina Job Vacancy

The role will include:

• Day-to-day office admin, invoices and booking
• Taking calls, emailing and updating customers
• Customer care, newsletters, and communication
• Liaising with members of staff and assisting with the smooth day-to-day operations of the marina
• Updating documentation and filing

The Person:

The role will be suited to an individual who ideally has a background in working with the general public and who has a basic knowledge of canal boats. They will need to be organised with a proactive approach to the task in hand, working both as an individual and as part of a team. Attention to detail and the need to be able to handle and perform well under pressure along with the ability to manage work load is important. Communication between staff and customers is essential to ensure the smooth operations of the marina.

A background in narrowboats is preferrable but not essential. Training will be provided.

Weltonfield Marina:

They will have the opportunity to join a well-established canal boat marina who are part of a family run group of three marinas, all located on the Leicester line of the Grand Union Canal.
